Hi, my name is Aubree Greathouse and I'm the leading candidate for the legacy team, Team Cancer Crushers! I'm a junior at Magnolia High School, and I am so excited to be a part of this amazing organization. I am very dedicated to the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society and can not wait to see how I grow within this organization! I got involved through friends, but my ultimate inspiration to be involved in this project is my Grandpa!

My grandpa, Lynn Cantu, was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer about seven years ago. He has struggled a lot due to existing health issues on top of his cancer and it has impacted our entire family. Thankfully through continous prayer and faith he got to ring the bell! All was well for a few months, but after a while he began to feel weak. One day he was working at his physically demanding job, and the next morning he was unable to walk. He was rushed to the emergency room where they did extensive testing to find out the cause. In the end he was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyilinating Polyradiculoneuropathy, or CIDP, which is an autoimmune disease effecting the nervous system caused by his chemotherapy and radiation treatments. He has recieved countless IVIg infusions, treatments, and physical therapy over the past four years and has regained enough function to walk with the assistance of a walker. Although it is a miracle he survived cancer, not being able to walk without assistance, and losing the ability to drive has had effects on his physical and mental health. He is a brave survivor, but funding safer treatments can prevent other survivors from getting diseases like CIDP in the future!

Another inspiration with this cause for me is my great aunt, Debbie Cantu, who was just recently diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma in the last few months. She is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet, and it breaks my heart that she has to deal with this! This is a slow growing cancer, but at this time there is not treatment! My hope is that with campaigns like this, we can find safe treatments to cure all types of Lymphoma! The money that my team will raise is going to play a huge role in journey of cancer patients! With many prayers, generous donors, and amazing programs like LLS we can beat cancer one day at a time. I want to raise money to fund better, safer cancer treatments so patients can live their lives care free after ringing the bell! This campaign turns fighters into survivors, but what happens after that? Patients shouldn't just survive, they should be thriving!

Thank you for supporting this cause! May God bless you all!

Until there's a cure,

Aubree Greathouse

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
